The Baystate Health Caring for Colleagues Fund offers emergency assistance to employees who have experienced a sudden loss of income, family crisis, or other unforeseen circumstances.  Established in 2009, Caring for Colleagues is funded by donations made to Baystate Health Foundation by employees of Baystate Health. With the goal of providing necessary support and engagement for employees experiencing extreme hardships, Baystate Health Foundation has transitioned the administration of this Fund to the office of BH Human Resource Consulting (HRC) and Employee Relations.  

The Director of Human Resources Consulting & Employee Relations will be responsible for reviewing and responding to employees requesting assistance from the Caring for Colleagues Fund.  Employees should send applications to BH Human Resource Consulting and Employee Relations Office, 280 Chestnut St, Phone 794-5655 Fax:794-8274. 

Who is eligible?

  • Any employee who has worked for Baystate Health for a minimum of one year (400 hours/year minimum for per diem employees) and is in good standing. 
  •  If a recipient wishes to reimburse the fund, they may do so in the form of a tax deductible gift to the Baystate Health Foundation.
