The 18th annual Rays of Hope – A Walk Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer and 2nd annual Run Toward the Cure 8K was held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 in Greenfield and Springfield with 21,000 participants who helped to raise $1,000,000! Thank you to the thousands of walkers, runners, sponsors, grassroot fundraisers and community members who joined together to raise awareness, support and hope for breast cancer research and care.
Without individuals like you, Rays of Hope would not have over 650 teams and 21,000 participants hitting the pavement; it would not have raised a remarkable $10.25 million since its inception in 1994; nor would it be able to continue its mission of:
-Offering community education and outreach about breast cancer.
-Providing coordinated, accessible, and medically advanced breast cancer care at the initial stage of diagnosis and continuing through treatment and recovery.
-Supporting patients through the continuum of care that acknowledges the needs of the whole person.
-Funding local breast cancer research.
